Tom Radzienda is a poet, teacher and healer who has lived, studied, worked and volunteered on five continents.
He was Assistant Professor in poetry and culture in the Faculty of Humanities at Srinakharinwirot University in Bangkok from 1994 to 2006. He received his Master of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of Sussex , Brighton, England, in 1992. Prior to that, he was Technical Coordinator for an American manufacturing firm in the 1980s.
Tom has traveled widely in Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America. His travels are a major inspiration and provide a wide variety of natural, spiritual, and historical insights in his poetry.
In 2006, he provided spiritual healings at Mosoq Runa Children’s Home in Peru. He is the founder of A Promise for Siam Charity Project (2002), supporting Bahn Khru Noi Children’s Home in Thailand. He is also the founder of African Rhythms Friendship Project (1999), providing textbooks for Iluya Primary School in Kenya.
His books include Fire Dreams (2005), A Promise for Siam (2002), and No More Pretty Pictures (1998). HIs books are available online at Barnes and Noble. He has presented numerous poetry recitals, poetry workshops, photography exhibitions and charity projects around Thailand.
His poetry-writing column, Poet Tree, appeared in the Bangkok Post from 2003 to 2005. His poetry-teaching column, The Poetry Generation, appeared in Thai TESOL Focus magazine from 2002 to 2005.
